Quality Control & Assurance

At the heart of Jennings Bakery and our great products is our Quality Control department. Headed up by experienced Quality Manager Maire Cunningham and her capable team we continuously monitor process variables and ensure that our products reach the customer in top condition and as expected.

To make this work we have members from our quality team on the production floor at all times overseeing the creation of our products. At the same time other members of our team can monitor data on our bespoke Quality Management system and act accordingly and as required.


As you would expect we are certified by many independent bodies such as the British Retail Consortium (BRC) who verify that we are maintaining a high standard of control and that our products and systems meet the needs of the consumer.

  • British Retail Consortium – BRC Approved to AA* Unannounced – This demonstrates our commitment to best practice within Food safety in our business. Compliance is checked by an unannounced visit by the certification body and of course is checked daily by ourselves as part of our quality system.
  • Sedex SMETA Approved- Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit – helps us to understand standards of labour, health and safety, environmental performance, and ethics within our operations and ensures that our workers are protected from unsafe conditions, overwork, discrimination, low pay, and forced labour.
  • RSPO Certified – Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil – This assures our customers and stakeholders that we have committed to and complied with Palm Oil sustainability requirements.

In addition to the above we are also audited on a regular basis by our customers (the retailers) to ensure that we meet their exacting standards.
